Valve recently announced that its Steam Link PC game streaming service is coming to Android and iOS through a dedicated free app.
Now, the company has released the Steam Link beta app on Android, allowing users to test out the platform on their phones or tablets.
With Steam Link, users will be able to stream their entire library of Steam games on their Android phone or tablet while connected to the same 5Ghz network or wired Ethernet as their Steam gaming computer (PC, Mac or Linux).
It’s important to note that computers running Steam Link cannot be used for any other activity.
The Steam Link app supports Android 5.0 and the Steam Controller or other Bluetooth input devices.
Valve says it aims to offer 1080p/60fps gameplay experiences through Steam Link at 5Ghz connections, while an advanced settings menu in the app will also let users adjust performance quality depending on how powerful their rigs and networks are.
The Steam Link beta app can be downloaded on Google Play here.
Steam says an iOS release date is “pending further review with Apple.”
