Earlier this week, app researcher Jane Manchun Wong discovered code buried in Instagram’s Android app that revealed a never-before-seen ‘Usage Insights’ feature.
According to Wong, Usage Insights would allow users to see how much time they spend on Instagram.
Now, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom has taken to Twitter to confirm that the Usage Insights feature is indeed real and that it will be coming to all users at some point in the future.

“We’re building tools that will help the IG community know more about the time they spend on Instagram — any time should be positive and intentional,” Systrom tweeted. “Understanding how time online impacts people is important, and it’s the responsibility of all companies to be honest about this. We want to be part of the solution. I take that responsibility seriously.”
However, Systrom did not reveal any details about how the feature will work or when it might roll out.
