Nexus and Pixel device owners can now download the final Android 8.1 Oreo developer preview.

This will be the last developer preview available for download before Google officially launches Android 8.1 in December.

According to the Google Developers Blog, this particular update is the “near-final” Android 8.1 system image, and includes a number of optimizations, as well as the November 2017 security patches.

“Also, for Pixel 2 users, the Android 8.1 update on these devices enables Pixel Visual Core — Google’s first custom-designed co-processor for image processing and [machine learning] — through a new developer option,” reads an excerpt from the November 27th, 2017 media release.

According to 9to5Google, the final 8.1 developer preview also contains fixes for a Nexus 5X audio issue that disabled audio through the phone’s speakers, as well as a fix for the Bluetooth indicator in dark mode.

The developers preview is available for 2016 and 2017 Pixel twin device owners, as well as Pixel C, Nexus 5X and 6P devices.

Anyone interested in downloading the preview can do so by enrolling in the Android Beta Program.
