U.S.-based chip manufacturer Broadcom might give in and increase its bid for Qualcomm.
According to sources who spoke with Reuters, Broadcom is “considering raising its offer to buy rival Qualcomm Inc. by offering more of its own stock, following consultation with several of Qualcomm’s top shareholders.”
Broadcom previously offered to purchase Qualcomm for $60 USD per share in cash, as well as an additional $10 per share of its own stock.
Sources have told Reuters, however, that Qualcomm wants $80 per share at least.
Broadcom has also reportedly made a number of attempts to meet with Qualcomm, but Qualcomm has rejected these meeting requests.
Broadcom unveiled its $103 billion bid for Qualcomm on November 6th, 2017, only for Qualcomm to unanimously reject Broadcom’s offer on November 13th, 2017.
