Google’s Pixel Buds, which launched alongside Google’s new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, are now shipping to pre-order customers.
The Pixel Buds, Google’s answer to a wireless earbud for its headphone jack-lacking handset, comes in the form of two earbuds attached by a short mesh-covered wire — which, in case you didn’t know, you shouldn’t cut.
The Pixel Buds function over Bluetooth and feature an 120mAh in-device battery, paired with a 620mAh battery in its accompanying charging case. Google says the headphones will provide five hours of listening time on a single charge, with the headphone’s charging case capable of holding 24 hours worth of charging functionality.
The Pixel Buds also feature built-in Google Assistant. Users tap and hold the right earbud to access the Google Assistant. Through the left earbud, users can operate audio controls by tapping to play and pause and swiping to change the volume.
In Canada, the Pixel Buds cost $219, though anyone itching to make the purchase will have to jump on a waiting list.
