Ask just about anybody what they want out of a mobile device, and you’ll likely hear a call for extended battery life. At best, flagship smartphones from Samsung, Apple, and various other manufacturers get you through a good chunk of the day, but heavy use can see a phone use up its power reserves even before lunchtime.
Considering the imminent launch of the Galaxy S7, reportedly slated for mid-March, we haven’t heard a significant amount of details about the upcoming device for some time. However, a tweet (in Russian) from Eldan Murtazin, a mobile analyst from Moscow, claims that the next Galaxy smartphone will include at least 17 hours of battery life, even while playing video at full brightness.
Galaxy s7 играет видео 17+часов с максимальной подсветкой. Рекорд для этого класса устройств.

There are a few things that could make this functionality possible, like low power use in the company’s new Exynos processor, combined with more efficient display technology. That being said, the physical form of the new Galaxy S7 probably won’t be very different from the S6.
In the next six weeks or so, we’re likely going to hear a lot more about Samsung’s still unannounced flagship smartphone, including whether its battery can stand up to these impressive claims.
