In the cities Uber operates, the taxi-as-a-service startup, which was recently valued at $40 billion, is at once innovative and disruptive.
The core of the service’s value is how easy it is to call a vehicle be it a licensed cab or a ridesharing-like UberX. Today, the company announced an expansion of its partnership with food startup giant, Zomato, which expanded into Canada late last year, and has since expanded into an additional eight cities.
The integration allows Android and iOS Zomato users to find a particular restaurant and order an Uber taxi or UberX to their current location. It’s not a big feature, but one that further entrenches Uber in as many other services as possible. Uber already has a presence in Google Maps, Transit App and a number of others.
