Microsoft today took to its newly rebranded Lumia Conversations blog to announce a new video editing app called Movie Creator.
Still in beta, Movie Creator allows users to take content captured on their phone (photos, video, cinemagraphs, and Living Images) and create movies. Microsoft is trying to make it easy for users to create movies, and so making a movie only requires four steps: select footage, theme, music, and titles.
However, you can also go a little further with edits and customization, by rearranging sections of photo and video, adding filters and captions, and trimming, rotating, flipping or mirroring clips. You can also add pans or zooms to certain scenes and adjust the volume of your clips. There is apparently no limit for project length. It can be as long as you want. Of course, there’s also easy sharing options (and if you have unlimited OneDrive storage, you can keep them on the cloud forever) so you can put the video on social media.
The app is compatible with Lumia devices and Surface tablets running Windows 8.1. It’s free to download on the Windows Store right now.
