Earlier today, Google announced the Motorola-made Nexus 6 and the HTC-built Nexus 9.
The Lollipop-powered Nexus 6 will be available for pre-order on October 29th, then sold via Google Play early November for $749 for the 32GB model (the 64GB will probably sell for $799).
The HTC Nexus 9 tablet, which comes in 16GB, 32GB and 32GB LTE model, will be available for pre-order starting Friday October 17th with official availability scheduled for November 3rd. Unfortunately there is no word on pricing.
From a Canadian carrier perspective, we’ve received confirmation that the pre-orders of the Nexus 9 WiFi will be available ‘soon’ from Future Shop and Best Buy, and that the Nexus 9 LTE will make its way to TELUS and Rogers “in late November.”
As for the Nexus 6, so far we’ve been informed that TELUS will be releasing the pure Android “later this year.” No indication yet from other Canadian carriers.
Update: TELUS has posted a ‘coming soon‘ page for the Nexus 6 on its site. We reached out to them about colour options and “TELUS has only confirmed the Midnight Blue colour at this time.”
