At Apple’s Wordwide Developers Conference today Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, congratulated the developer community for their efforts and dedication to the platform. Cook stated that when WWDC started in 1990 there was an attendance of 1,300 devs. Today, 25-years later, WWDC has 5,000 developers in attendance and Apple has 9 million registered developers.
There are now a total of 800 million iOS devices, including 500 million iPhones and 200 million iPads and 100 million iPod Touch. Cook noted that they welcomed 130 million new customers in the past year, many have come from Android who came to them from purchasing an android “by mistake,” and “sought a better life…”
Cook unveiled that there 300 million people visit the App Store every week, and 75 billion apps have been downloaded.
