Tired of Sense 6.0 already? Hell, it’s only been a month since HTC’s flat-tastic overlay impressed us with its smooth performance and lovely (if slightly self-conscious) design.
But if you’re longing to return to the stylings of stock Android and whatever that entails, CyanogenMOD has your back. The well-funded business has just begun issuing nightly downloads for the HTC One M8, including the Canadian variant, and installing is as easy as unlocking your bootloader and loading a custom recovery. Not interested in going through the hassle? Let the CyanogenMOD Installer do it for you.
Interestingly, the list shows compatibility only with the Rogers and Telus variants, though we believe that to be an error — the Bell HTC One M8 is identical to the others, and should load the ROM without issue.
CyanogenMOD 11 corresponds to Android 4.4.2, which is currently the same as what is preloaded on the One M8. In the future, when new Android versions are released, CyanogenMOD is likely to issue them more quickly than HTC.
