20 minutes is all it took for Google I/O to sell out last year. You can bet a similar sell-out time will occur this morning. Google opens up registration for their annual developer conference today and if you’re interested in scoring a ticket then you best be on your computer hitting refresh at 10:00am EST. Tickets cost $900 (USD) and academic attendee prices are discounted to $300 (USD).
Google I/O 2013 is taking place at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco on May 15-17, 2013. However, if you’re unable to be there Google will also live stream parts of the event. At the event Google usually unveils a new version of Android, possibly Key Lime Pie, plus showcases a few new products.
Update: Google has officially opened up Google I/O tickets. Anyone having any luck?
Update #2: 34 minutes into registration I was welcomed with the option to purchase a ticket.
Update #3: Google I/O 2013 is now sold out. The time is a bit longer than last year at 49 minutes. Apparently users were having a challenge with payments.
