Google has posted default factory images of Jelly Bean for most compatible Nexus devices available in Canada, including the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Nexus 7.
Factory images are what you’d need to install if, for whatever reason, your phone goes haywire and needs to be restored to complete factory settings.
Note that for the Nexus S, there are two different versions that Canadians must keep track of: the “soju” track is for the AWS version for Mobilicity and WIND Mobile, while the “sojua” is for the Rogers/TELUS/Bell version. Make sure you download and install the correct one!
The Canadian Galaxy Nexus has a codename of “yakjux” which is not listed on Google’s site. It’s not difficult to make your “yakjux” into a “yakju,” but it does take a bit of work. Head over to XDA-Developers for a quick-and-easy guide on getting your device onto “yakju” version Android 4.0.1 to ensure that it is fully compatible with Google-pushed OTA updates in the future.
