The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) recently stated there are about 24.5 million wireless subscribers in Canada, an increase of 1.7 new from 2010. Across the board from all carriers, Rogers, Bell, TELUS and WIND have all reported a high percentage of smartphone subscribers, upwards of 50% of subscribers and now reached 8.8 million of the total subscriber base . With the adoption of smartphones comes data usage. Carriers have also stated they are seeing record revenue from people getting their emails to surfing the web.
