Toronto currently has a population of over 2.5 million people and houses area codes 416 and 647. According to a recent assessment it’s expected that telephone numbers with these area codes will run out by July 2015. The CRTC has assigned a 3rd area code to Torontonians, say hello to area code 437. This will go in effect March 25th 2013. In addition, area code 387 has already been set aside “for future relief”, this is just in case 437 runs out quickly.
