Galaxy S III benchmark test possibly reveals upcoming specs

Who needs their daily fix of “The Next Galaxy” smartphone from Samsung? Well, here’s a good one to ponder. AnTuTu benchmark app has listed results from a recent test, hopefully it’s true as it shows this Android OS 4.0 topping the Tegra 3 quad-core Asus Transformer Prime tablet. Most of the specs have surfaced in past rumours, but this shows the lack of the rumoured quad-core processor in favour of a 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos dual-core processornow confirmed Exynos 4 quad core. In addition, this flagship sports a 4.7-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720, 1GB of RAM, 12MP camera with a 2MP front-facing camera.

As for the name, I personally can’t see Samsung diverting very far from the current naming scheme. It’s a tradition and it seems to be working very well for them – selling well over 30 million Galaxy S devices worldwide. The Galaxy S III and all its glorious specs will be revealed on May 3rd.

Update: Samsung has announced the 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor will be powering the “Next Galaxy”.
