Launch event for ‘Amazon-exclusive’ OnePlus 5T leaks

OnePlus 5T

The rumours about OnePlus’ next smartphone keep flooding in, with this leak giving us a nearly perfect view of the device in all its glory.

The event information, leaked by GizChina, indicates that the device is Amazon Exclusive, which means it likely stems from India where the online retail giant is the official retailer for OnePlus handsets. The OnePlus India launch event is dated for November 16th which, according to Android Central, is usually a day or two after the global event (this means the global launch event will likely be on the 14th or the 15th).

This image of the rumoured OnePlus 5T looks nearly identical to leaks and renders seen previously. The device features very slim bezels, a 18:9 aspect ratio, a rear facing fingerprint sensor — though other leaks have pointed to the sensor being below the OnePlus logo — and a dual rear facing camera setup.

Given that this leak corroborates earlier information, it looks like we’re going to see OnePlus’ next smartphone in the coming weeks, though until OnePlus unveils the device nothing is guaranteed.

Pete Lau, OnePlus co-founder, also recently tweeted about a Samsung’s AMOLED display. This suggests that Samsung’s display technology will be featured on OnePlus’ upcoming smartphone.

If the rumours turn out to be accurate, the OnePlus 5T will sport a 6-inch display, with a 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution. Additionally, the device will likely run an octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset, at least 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and will feature a dual-rear camera setup with two 20-megapixel sensors.
