Update: 26/01/2026 at 9:32 a.m. ET — KFC has delayed its Toronto launch event for its collaboration with Canadian chef Matty Matheson due to the significant snowfall in Ontario.
Previously scheduled for Monday, January 26, the event will now take place on Sunday, February 2 at the same KFC location on 1221 Dundas St. W. The 2pm to 5pm timing will remain the same.

KFC Canada has teamed up with famous Canadian chef Matty Matheson on special menu items.
Now available at restaurants across Canada until February 22, the collaboration with the Fort Erie, Ont. star of The Bear includes:
- The Matty Melt Slider — featuring KFC’s Original Recipe chicken tender topped with creamy cheese sauce, caramelized onions, and mayo stacked into a sesame slider bun (available in a 2 for $6 deal or also as a combo).
- $10 Matty Mega Melt Poutine — KFC’s signature seasoned fries topped with gooey cheese curds, gravy, cheese sauce, caramelized onions, and popcorn chicken.
- Matty Melt Sandwich — KFC’s signature triple-breaded chicken fillet layered with cheese sauce, sweet caramelized onions, and creamy mayo, all stacked on a potato bun.
- Matty Mega Feast — 10 pieces of KFC Original Recipe chicken, a large Popcorn Chicken, a Matty Mega Melt Poutine Bowl, two homestyle sides of your choice and 3 dips.
KFC is also teasing a secret “Matty-approved” weekly app-exclusive item. The KFC Canada app is available on Android and iOS.
To celebrate the partnership, KFC says it’s also transforming its Toronto location at 1221 Dundas St. W into “Matty’s KFC” on Monday, January 26. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Torontonians can check out the themed restaurant, get free food and even meet Matheson between 2 pm. and 3 p.m.
In related news, Matheson’s Just A Dash culinary series, which previously aired on YouTube, is moving to Netflix on Tuesday. The first two seasons of the show will be available on the streamer that day alongside the premiere of the third season. Additionally, the fifth season of The Bear, which streams on Disney+ Canada, is currently in the works.
