Another rumour points to Android 15 rolling out on October 15

Android 15 brings a revamped iOS-like status bar, the ability to adjust vibration intensity, a new Private Space, and more

Android 15, codenamed Vanilla Ice Cream, may launch on October 15, according to Android Headlines. The publication didn’t say where it got this information, but considering that’s usually when the new Pixel handsets launch, it may be possible.

Google released the stable version of Android 14 on October 4th last year, so the 15th isn’t too far off. Android Headlines says the release would be on October 14th, but since that’s Columbus Day, it’ll get pushed to the 15th.

What’s interesting, though, is the Android Open Source Project for Android 15 is already out. Android 15 brings a revamped iOS-like status bar, the ability to adjust vibration intensity, a new Private Space, and more.

October 15th seems pretty far away, especially if you own a Pixel 9 that came with last year’s Android 14 build. The Pixel 9 is the first Pixel device that didn’t launch with the new version of Android.

A previous rumour corroborates this Android 15 report as well.
