The next OnePlus Open might be less than 10mm thin when folded

The next OnePlus Open might be extremely thin

A new leak suggests that the next OnePlus Open will be under 10mm thin when folded, according to a since-deleted post on Weibo.

The next OnePlus Open is likely to be based on the Oppo N5, since the first Open was based on the Oppo N3. The leak suggests the phone will have a 2K+ screen, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and a triple rear camera system with a 50-megapixel camera and a periscope zoom.

The periscope zoom is interesting since it will be on such a tiny phone it will likely require some interesting engineering to make it work.

The new Pixel 9 Pro Fold that recently came out is 10.5mm, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm. The New Honor Magic V3 is under 10mm at 9.2mm proving that foldable phones can be quite small and still fold. The current OnePlus Open is 11.7mm thick when folded.

The upcoming OnePlus foldable is expected to hit North America in early 2025, according to the leak translated by Android Authority.
