A new report from notable Apple leaker Mark Gurman claims that Apple’s fall iPhone event will fall on September 10th.
According to Gurman’s report, Apple is still finalizing the schedule, but if it does fall on the 10th, the phones are expected to hit store shelves on September 20th.
Looking at the timeline from past iPhone events, we can expect the Apple event invitations to be sent out around the end of August. In 2019, the Apple event was held on September 10, and the invitations were sent out on August 30. It was also held on September 10, 2013, but the invites went out on September 3rd of that year.
Gurman predicts that Apple might be moving its event and iPhone release dates up as much as possible to help the company use the new phones to bolster the end of its Q4 2024. He says Apple expects a five percent jump in sales compared to last year.
At the event, we expect to see new iPhone 16 Pro phones with a new capture button, iPhone 16 devices with the Action button, and a slate of new watches. These may be more exciting to some since they may receive a slight redesign this year, including larger models to provide better battery life. We’re also expecting USB-C AirPods Max and two new regular AirPods models to replace the 2nd and 3rd generation earbuds currently on sale.
