While Mountain View search giant Google is currently in the midst of its annual I/O developers’ conference, the company also took some time to release May 2018’s Android distribution numbers.
According to the Android distribution dashboard, Android 8.0 and 8.1 Oreo are available on approximately 5.7 percent of all Android devices.
This marks an increase from April 2018, during which Android Oreo — both 8.0 and 8.1 collectively — were available on 4.6 percent of all Android devices.
A further breakdown of May 2018’s numbers shows that Android 8.0 is available on 4.9 percent of all devices, while Android 8.1 is available on 0.8 percent of all devices.
Additionally, Android 6.0 Marshmallow stands at the top of the Android mountain, with roughly 25.5 percent of all Android smartphones running Marshmallow.
Android 7.0 Nougat and 5.1 Lollipop occupy the second and third spots, with 22.9 percent of devices running Nougat and 17.6 percent of devices running Lollipop.
The aforementioned data was collected during the seven-day period that ended on May 7th, 2018, according to Google.
