Facebook is making all of its apps more interconnected.
The social media giant’s latest update for Whatsapp now allows for Facebook and Instagram videos to be viewed from within the chat app itself.
Previously, links to Facebook or Instagram videos would redirect users out of Whatsapp and into those other apps to view them.
A picture in picture feature also let users continue their conversations while a smaller version of the video plays in the background.
Support for in-app Facebook and Instagram videos comes as part of the latest update to Whatsapp on iOS. The update also allows admins to add and revoke privileges from other users in a group chat, as well as the ability to edit the subject, description and icon of any ongoing chat.
While the new update has started to roll out to Whatsapp users on iOS, it’s currently unclear when the Android version of the app will also be updated.
