OnePlus’ next smartphone, the OnePlus 6, will feature waterproofing, according to a new teaser from the company.
In a tweet sent out earlier today, OnePlus asks, “Don’t you hate it when you have to stop using your phone when it rains?” before answering the question itself, “So do we ;)”
Accompanying the tweet is a short clip of water splashing off a hard surface.

Should the OnePlus 6 feature some type of water resistance, it will be the first OnePlus smartphone to do so. In the past, OnePlus smartphones have sacrificed nice-to-have features like waterproofing and inductive charging to offer bleeding-edge internal specs at a relatively modest price.
With the addition of water resistance, it’s likely OnePlus 6 will cost more than the OP5T. Something that should come as no surprise since each new OnePlus flagship has cost more than its predecessor.
Last week, OnePlus showed off the OnePlus 6’s side profile. Prior to that, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed in an interview with The Verge that the OP6 will feature an iPhone X-like display notch.
