The DTEK50, BlackBerry’s latest Android smartphone, has missed its original August 8th ship date.
A visit to the company’s online store reveals that the DTEK50 is now set to start shipping to consumers the week of August 15th.
We’ve reached out to BlackBerry to find out if there’s a specific reason for the delay. Stay tuned.
The DTEK50 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable by an additional 2TB thanks to a microSD slot), 2,610 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 functionality, 8 megapixel front-facing and 13 megapixel back-facing camera. BlackBerry’s signature DTEK app allows users to easily check and configure app permissions.
BlackBerry recently made its Hub+ suite of apps available to all Android Marshmallow users.
Update 08/11/16: Despite the official ship date slipping, it seems some orders are still arriving on time.
