In May, BlackBerry CEO John Chen stated the company is “very close” to making its hardware business profitable again. In its latest quarterly results, BlackBerry reported a $670 million net loss and sold approximately 500,000 smartphones, but there are no details related to how many of those sales correlate to the Android-powered Priv.

On July 26th, BlackBerry will be hosting a virtual event where it promises to reveal a “first look at how BlackBerry is changing the way people and organizations think about mobile security and privacy.” While there is no certainty, Chen is also expecting to announce further details of its second Android device.

As previously reported, BlackBerry is expected to release three new Android devices in the coming months known by the codename of Neon, Argon, and Mercury. The 5.2-inch Neon and 5.5-inch Argon are expected to be running Android and come with a touchscreen display. The Mercury is tipped sport a physical QWERTY keyboard.

According to a report in the Globe and Mail, the “mid-range” Neon will also come at an affordable price point “for about $350.” As for release dates, sources indicate the Neon will launch sometime in August, followed by October for the Argon, and an unknown date in 2017 for the Mercury.
