As of last Fall, popular Facebook-owned image sharing service Instagram had over 400 million users. Posting promotional material to the platform is viewed as increasingly important for businesses, as the photo-heavy medium is perfect for showing off new products, services and people.
As we’ve reported in the past, for the last several weeks Instagram has been conducting tests allowing select Android and iOS apps to remain logged in to multiple accounts. Today, the company posted to its blog that this functionality is already integrated into the current version of its app, and is set to be rolled out to all users this week.
As Instagram continues to grow the photo sharing platform needs to find new ways to support the advertisers that utilize its service. Allowing users to post personal or business messages without switching accounts easily will mean business users are more likely to choose Instagram for promotional posts.
Instagram is available on the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store now, though, the account app’s account switching functionality is still in the process of launching.
