After losing a patent infringement case to BlackBerry preventing it from releasing phone cases, Ryan Seacrest-backed Typo Innovations has joined the flooded iPad keyboard case market.
Originally unveiled at CES 2015, the Typo for iPad Air 1 + 2 is available to purchase $189 USD, with an identically-priced iPad mini version expected for mid-June. The Bluetooth keyboard case is 5.5mm thick, with full-size keys and a friction hinge that allows the iPad to be positioned at several typing-optimized angles.
BlackBerry and Typo recently settled all outstanding lawsuits, with the smaller accessory company agreeing to discontinue selling cases for devices with screens less than 7.9-inches.
