Google’s Nexus 6 may be launched any moment now — now? NOW? — and the trickle of leaks is just adding to that excitement.
This morning, we’re hearing from a German retailer that the Nexus 6 will debut in 32GB and 64GB versions. Don’t mind the price, as carriers tend to mark up the Nexus devices significantly, but it’s important to note that Google will likely be dropping the 16GB variant.
An increasingly loud tenor for such a move has been made throughout the industry recently, especially since Apple decided to maintain its 16GB introductory model and jump straight to 64GB thereafter, further padding its margins in the process.
Google’s elimination of the 16GB Nexus, which really only holds around 12GB of apps, games and other media, is a step in the right direction.
The leak also points to 16GB and 32GB WiFi Nexus 9 tablets, as well as a 32GB LTE version, similar to the Nexus 7.
