Android are complaining of a week-long Gmail synchronization issue, affecting users’ ability to refresh email both automatically and manually.
The first complaints hit Google’s Product Forums on June 23rd, and the main thread has now reached 150 posts, many of whom complain that the issue is relegated to Android alone, with other platforms unaffected.
A Google representative posted on June 25th that the company is investigating the issue, but has since been quiet about a timeframe for resolution. The strangest part of the outage is that many users report only a single account of multiple affected, leading to conclusions that it may be a routing problem on Google’s end.
It’s unclear why only Android users affected — though the occasional user has stated Gmail sync is unavailable across all platforms — but we’re hoping Google resolves the issue sooner than later.
