Occasionally network outages happen. Majority of the time it’s unpredictable weather that causes networks to go down for a few minutes or hours. Over the past 24-hours, Southern Ontario was hit with a major ice storm and this has crippled several carriers wireless networks. Some have taken to Twitter and stated that their “Network team is dispatched & service will be restored as soon as possible.”
We’ve received tips from many reader that they’re having connectivity challenges. Below are a few maps, courtesy of CanadianOutages, with the current state of the network outages for each carrier.
Let us know if you’re having issues, plus where you’re located and with what carrier.
Update: Rogers, Mobilicity, Fido and Public Mobile have stated that some customers in Southern Ontario still might be experiencing wireless outage. Judging by the lack of comments and non-issues on Twitter and Facebook, it seems that most Canadians are not impacted.
