The Nexus 5 has started to arrive at Canadian carrier retail stores. This should be available on November 8th — as previously reported the 16GB version will cost about $100 on a 2-year or $500 outright.
In addition, the initial stock will come with a sticker on the box that will ask you to do an immediate software update to “ensure proper device functionality.” The update is about 130MB and the sticker states “Operating system software update required. WARNING: Phone set up may incur substantial network data charges unless Wi-Fi network is selected.” The above picture is from a Bell store, but we’ve also received the same instructions from TELUS. According to the TELUS document the carrier will be waiving any charges that are incurred.
(Thanks tipsters!)
