Google tends to update its Android apps and services in spurts, and this week is no exception. After announcing a new version of Gmail this morning, Google has subsequently updated its popular Calendar app with some nice new features.
First up is the new date and time picker which does away with the tedious and unsightly method from the previous app. I like this new method and hope the company incorporates it into other areas of the operating system.
Google also added custom colours to the events and calendars, so you can finally specify what shade each one will take. It’s a minor change with significant implications for your workflow. Also new are more comprehensive recurring event options and increased control over custom timezones.
