Asus’ top-of-the-line pair of Tegra 3 tablets, the Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity, will be upgraded to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean “soon” according to the company’s Facebook page.
The company posted, “Hooray! We are pleased to announce that we will soon be rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for both the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) and ASUS Transformer Pad Prime (TF201). Watch this space.”
Jelly Bean should bring some extra speed and new features to the Asus tablets, including expandable notifications. The company has been pretty good with updating its older devices to new Android versions, as the experience is fairly stock, augmented only by some Asus apps.
The update should be available in the coming days or weeks. Let us know if you receive it.
Update: Gary Key, ASUS Technical Marketing Manager, took to XDA and said the update should hit Canadians “within the next 72 hours.” – IH
