Bloomberg has jumped on the “iPad mini” train today. Following all the other rumours of a smaller iPad coming to the market, Bloomberg’s “four people familiar with the plans” say that Apple will indeed release a 7.85-inch iPad “in October.” The only other new detail, which is still unconfirmed by Apple, is that Yeh Cheng Technology, a Foxconn subsidiary, will supply the lamination coating on the upcoming tablet. In addition, the display will reportedly be supplied by both LG Display and AU Optronics. The screen resolution on the “iPad mini” is still unknown, but previous rumours are that it’ll come in similar to the original iPad 2 at 1024×768.
