As Firefox 15 becomes official for desktops today, the Android version graduates to stable status as well, bringing tablet support and new features for phones.
While tablet support looks to be the biggest single addition to the app — and it really is fantastic, arguably better than Chrome when used on larger slates — there are a few other inclusions worth noting. Tabs can now be closed by swiping them away, and this version adds improved support for SPDY networking protocol.
Overall, if you’re already using Firefox for Android, this is a worthy update. Otherwise, you’re unlikely to be swayed from Chrome — that is, unless you’re on a tablet.
