Mojang’s Minecraft is an absolute worldwide sensation, with over 20 million registered players, but its success is not just limited to the PC version. The simplified Pocket Edition launched as an exclusive back in August on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, and since went live to all Android and iOS users. The $6.99 game has sold over 700,000 copies between the two platforms, as reported by Mojang designer Daniel Kaplan, with 5,000 being sold every day.
He declined to comment which platform sold more, but claimed that a large number of copies were “sold” during Google’s 10 Billion Downloads promo.
If you haven’t yet checked out this build-your-own-world game, do so immediately on either Android or iOS.
