Apple is going to “unveil the future of iOS” at the upcoming WWDC in June and there has also been constant rumours of an official announcement of the next generation of the iPhone. Some analysts say the new “iPhone 5” will have a bigger display that will go “edge-to-edge”, an 8 megapixel camera, aluminum back plate, a new antenna and faster A5 processor. As for a potential release date last week more reports said the iPhone 5 “launch is likely a very late 2011 or more likely a 2012 event”.
New reports today from Reuters states the next generation iPhone “will look largely similar to the iPhone 4” and will indeed have a faster processor. According to “three people with direct knowledge of the company’s supply chain” said the new iPhone will go into production in July/August and start shipping in September. This date also was noted a few days ago by Avian Securities and earlier by RBC.
