It was only last Friday Videotron sent out a message that “Build-out of the AWS network is progressing quickly” and that final testing has started for their Summer launch of their new network. However, yesterday parent company Quebecor reported Q1 2010 results and President and CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau threw down the truth by stating the network launch has been delayed until the end of the year, or at least the Fall.
Peladeau said “Launching a network is not a piece of cake…We want to keep offering our clients quality products and, in telecommunications, this means service without interruption and offering quality content. We are quite satisfied with the deployment but it isn’t finished yet”.
This news must bring tremendous joy to all the other carriers but sadness to potential customers.
