A new study has been released by Prosper Mobile Insights called the “Simultaneous Media Usage Survey”. The company surveyed 25,000 people in June and found some interesting stats regarding household income and handset devices. Asked “What is the annual total income of your household?” and “Which of the following do you have?” (iPhone, Android or BlackBerry), the response of the “rich”, those who earn a household income of $150,000 and above, are carrying BlackBerry devices (11.3%), followed by the iPhone with 10.9% and Android with 7.2%. Dropping to the household income between $100,000 to $149,999-a-year is once again RIM’s BlackBerry devices with 21% of respondents, followed once again by the iPhone at 19.1% and 15.8% Android. The sweet spot for Apple are those who bring in between $75,000 to $99,999, meanwhile Android is at the lower end for those who have a combined household income between $15,000 to $74,999.
