If waiting until the game’s official release in mid November is too long for you, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is actually available to download right now.
While there are obvious risks by taking this route, it’s possible to download Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the latest Nintendo mobile title, via a widely available Android APK, as well as by switching your iOS App Store region.
For some reason Nintendo went live with Pocket Camp in Australia ahead of the game’s scheduled release date, likely to soft launch beta test the title prior to its full release.
Android
As always, it’s important to point out that downloading APKs from insecure sources is dangerous and can result in malware, bricking your device and compromising your personal information.
That said, Android Police-owned APK Mirror is an often reliable, peer reviewed source of APKs. You can find a link to the APK here. While we can’t confirm with full certainty that the APK is completely safe, I’m currently running Animal Crossing Pocket Camp on my Pixel 2 XL.
While I’ve only spent a few minutes with the game, it seems to work fine and is the complete version, though APKMirror’s listing cites the games as 0.9.0 beta.
iOS
If downloading an APK sounds a little too intimidating and you’re an iOS user, there’s a slightly more legitimate way to get your hands on Nintendo’s latest mobile title.
Here are the relatively simple steps (trust me, it’s easier than it looks):
1. Open the iOS App Store on your mobile device.
2. Navigate to the apps section of your account page from the top right corner, then sign out of your account.
3. Now, open a free app in the app store in order to avoid having to put in credit card information. Fill out the required information in terms of creating a new Apple ID with a new email (just make up a fake address). Make sure you select ‘Australia’ as the App Store’s region — this is probably the most important step in this process.
4. Search for Animal Crossing Pocket Camp in the Australian App Store after signing in. If that doesn’t work, cut and paste this link into Safari (it won’t work in Chrome). The link will then prompt you to navigate to the app store.
After you’ve followed all over the above steps, that’s it. Enjoy the game and decorate your fancy camping trailer.
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is set to officially launch in November on Android and iOS. We’ll have more on Animal Crossing Pocket Camp in the coming days.
