Sony has unveiled an official Lego set based on the original PlayStation.
During the September 3 State of Play, a Lego designer discussed the set, which had leaked earlier this week, with a subsequent PS Blog post revealing more.
Notably, the set will be a whopping 1,911 pieces and nearly 1:1 scale with the original PlayStation, measuring in at 10.5 inches/26 cm. The set feature the classic console’s signature classic grey rectangular design, buttons, controller, memory card slot and flip-up disc tray. There are even compartments featuring scenes from Ape Escape and Gran Turismo that can be removed and displayed separately.
The set will launch in Canada on October 4 for $249.99. Pre-orders aren’t yet available, but an official product listing has gone live on Lego’s website.
This comes after several other video game Lego sets, including those based on PlayStation’s own Horizon series (which also got a related video game), Nintendo’s Game Boy, Mario and Zelda and Sega’s Genesis.
