OnePlus partners with CyanogenMOD to launch the ‘OnePlus One’ this year

Fresh off the release of the Oppo N1 Limited Edition, another Android handset manufacturer has announced they’ll release a CyanogenMOD device in 2014. Startup OnePlus, which promises a ’no compromise’ hardware design, has partnered with Cyanogen Inc. to release the superbly named OnePlus One in the first half of the new year.

There’s no word yet on hardware specs, but OnePlus claims the device will feature a custom version of CyanogenMOD with “special features and tweaks,” which should be exciting for fans of the open source Android OS. The OnePlus One will launch in select markets initially before expanding to global availability.
