Nintendo has released its new Store app on iOS and Android, making it easy to browse for games or merch on the go. This adds another app to Nintendo’s suite that includes a music app, a news app and a companion app for the Nintendo Switch.
Once you download the app, you can browse the online game store, and once you sign in, you can buy physical hardware like a Switch or a controller and redeem points for My Nintendo rewards. However, when you go to purchase something, it links to the web, where Apple and Google can’t take a cut.

There’s also a small news section included, but it doesn’t overlap significantly with the content of the Nintendo Today app.
If you want to track the price of something, you can set notifications to go off when games on your wish list go on sale. This is a little more convenient than the current online eShop version, which sends you e-mails about your wish list.
However, the coolest thing you can do is see a very detailed breakdown of your play history that mentions how many hours you’ve played games on your consoles, and this mobile version shows how long each play session was. If you’ve been using the same Nintendo account information since the 3DS era, you can even see playtime for those titles.

That said, your Wii U and 3DS play data was seemingly only recorded on Nintendo servers until 2020. So it won’t be a complete picture if you still play those consoles. Either way, in general, this is a great tool and a handy way for parents to keep a quick eye on their kids’ screen time.
