How to watch the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 5 of the 2025 World Series

What a series this has been

Toronto Blue Jays Bo Bichette World Series

After a rollercoaster of a two-game stretch within Los Angeles so far, the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays will play its final game south of the border before heading back to the Rogers Centre.

Game five of the World Series will be on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 8:00 p.m. EST. at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

Blue Jays Manager John Schneider confirmed that rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage will take the mound for Game 5. The 22-year-old went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks. Yesavage made his MLB debut in September and had just three starts in the MLB before the postseason. This will be Yesavage’s first postseason start outside of the Rogers Centre.

The Dodgers, on the other hand, are going with game one starter Blake Snell. In his last outing, which was just mentioned, Snell definitely didn’t have the best of luck. In five innings, Snell allowed five runs on eight hits (including the Daulton Varsho two-run homer) alongside three walks. Despite the rocky start, Snell has been dominant outside of the World Series, pitching to 27 strikeouts and only two runs across 21 innings.

Where to Watch

The good news is that Mississauga is hosting its World Series watch party at Celebration Square for game five, with pregame events starting an hour before first pitch. Newmarket is also hosting its watch party at the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre, with food and snacks provided. Newmarket will take a one-game break from hosting its watch party after game five, although Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square will host one for game six.

If you do manage to find tickets, the Rogers Centre is also hosting its own World Series watch party, with the game displayed on the jumbotron for $15. Tickets are already gone, but you might be able to snag one through verified resale.

If you want to enjoy a bit of grub while watching the game, most restaurants, bars, and pubs in the GTHA will be hosting their own watch parties. Several downtown Toronto venues (including The Loose Moose, RendezViews, The Pint, and Real Sports Bar & Grill) are taking walk-ins, with some not accepting reservations at all.

If the crowds are too much, you can catch the game on Sportsnet or its streaming platform Sportsnet+, CityTV and its streaming platform CityTV+ are also carrying the World Series; however, they are holding the American Fox Broadcast, in case you want to listen to the Canadian announcers.

Currently, the monthly cost for Sportsnet+’s standard package is $29.99, or $249.99 per year if you choose to pay the bill annually. Also listed on Sportsnet’s website is a package that bundles both CityTV+ and Sportsnet+ for a few bucks more than the standard package ($31.99 per month), giving users access to more content than just sports. If you don’t want to justify paying for CityTV+ to watch the game, you can also get a 7-day free trial of the platform if you have a subscription to Amazon Prime Video. A small note — satellite TV subscribers can use their provider’s login to access either Sportsnet+ or CityTV+, but content is limited based on what they are subscribed to.

If you don’t want to pay a subscription to watch the games, you can also listen to them on the radioSportsnet-owned radio stations (590 The Fan, 650 The Fan, 960 The Fan) will carry the games; however, local sports coverage may affect the World Series broadcast depending on the region.

If you pay for Sirius XM or have access to it, Channels 175 and 176 will be carrying the games, but they will be carrying different broadcasts (175 will be 590 The Fan’s coverage, while 176 will be the Dodgers’ radio crew). If you want to sign up for Sirius XM, the Platinum Plan costs $29.99 per month.
