Rogers-owned Fido has changed up its plans yet again.
After adding a $39/60GB plan yesterday that required customers to go in-store or call in, the provider has now updated its website with the same $39/60GB plan and added other new options. Here are the plans it has now:
- $34/10GB (includes $10/mo autopay discount).
- $39/20GB (includes $10/mo autopay discount).
- $34/30GB (includes $10/mo autopay discount).
- $39/60GB (includes $10/mo autopay discount) – previously $54/60GB with Canada/U.S. calling.
- $44/80GB with unlimited calling to the U.S., Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, and the U.K. – unchanged – (includes $10/mo autopay discount).
All of the above plans have 4G data (speeds capped at 150Mbps) plus unlimited Canada-wide calling and unlimited international texting sent from Canada, as well as other standard features like voicemail, call display and more.
Overall, it’s good to see Fido expand its options, though it’s strange that it offers plans with the same price but different data buckets (why anyone would get the $34/10GB plan over the $34/30GB is beyond me).
However, while Fido expanded the number of options available, it’s worth noting that the plans still aren’t good. For starters, the provider offered a $34/50GB option last Black Friday, so the $34/30GB plan is frankly disappointing. The $44/80GB plan isn’t bad however, compared to last year’s $55/70GB plan.
Public Mobile and Freedom Mobile remain at the forefront of plan deals, both of which offer $35/50GB 5G, $45/75GB 5G and $55/100GB 5G plans with Canada/U.S./Mexico roaming.
