Telus-owned Public Mobile launched its Black Friday deals and, unfortunately, the offers aren’t great.
Public doesn’t sell phones, so the deals are only on plans. However, it also didn’t roll out any new plans. Instead, Public just added long-distance minutes to some plans or doubled the included long-distance minutes on others. Check out the current plans below:
- $36/50GB 5G Canada/U.S. with 500 long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.K.
- $45/65GB 5G Canada/U.S. with 2,000 long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.K.
- $49/100GB 4G Canada/U.S. with 1,000 long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.K.
- $30/20GB 4G Canada/U.S. with 250 long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.K.
- $23/6GB 4G with 100 long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.K.
- $19/1GB 4G with 100 long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.K.
Notably, Public also killed its $35/50GB 4G plan.
Overall, these Black Friday ‘deals’ are pretty lacklustre in my eyes, especially compared to last year when Public had $34/50GB 5G plans during the holidays. Here’s hoping Public launches better offers on Black Friday proper or during Boxing Week.
