TikTok is launching a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) feed in Canada.
The social app’s new STEM feed will feature Canadian creators and organizations that share educational content, like @AsapSCIENCE, @cheggbiology, @drrachelbarr, @justin_agustin, @nileredextra, @onlinekyne, @ROMtoronto, @science.bae, @sciencenorth and @wildkrattstv.
Moreover, TikTok said it’s partnering with Common Sense Networks and Poynter to ensure the quality of STEM content. Common Sense will review all content to ensure it’s appropriate for the STEM feed, while Poynter will assess the reliability of information. Content will need to pass both checkpoints to be eligible for the STEM feed.
The new feed will live to the left of the ‘Following’ feed. Users can access it by tapping ‘STEM’ at the top of their screen or by swiping left.
