Microsoft is set to combine its standalone Xbox Game Pass app with its dedicated Xbox app to create a single mobile application.
In a blog post outlining the September Xbox update, the company confirmed that features from the Game Pass app are coming to the official Xbox app on Android and iOS. This includes the ability to explore the Game Pass catalogue, get alerts for upcoming titles and manage your membership.
The change will first affect Xbox beta members on mobile before rolling out to everyone “soon.” As part of this shift, Xbox will discontinue the Xbox Game Pass app on mobile.
Currently, the main Xbox app allows you to manage your friends list, view your game captures, remote install games and more. Soon, you can add Game Pass functionality to that list.
Beyond the app updates, Xbox’s September update also includes full availability for the Game Bar compact mode on Windows for all players and more PC game management options.
