Linkin Park to perform 2024 League of Legends Championship Anthem

The anthem's music video will be available to stream starting September 24th at 11am.

Riot Games really knows how to get my attention by having the Linkin Park perform the 2024 League of Legends World Championship Anthem.

The song is titled Heavy is the Crown, and the music video will be available to watch on YouTube and music streaming platforms on Tuesday, September 24th at 11am ET.

Heavy Is The Crown is a monumental collaboration for the band with the gaming industry. “It’s been an amazing experience partnering with Riot to bring this anthem to the global League of Legends community,” said Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. “The song is a real highlight of this new era for us, harnessing our signature sound and infusing it with fresh energy. We’re so excited for players and fans to experience this!”

This follows the band’s recently released single The Emptiness Machine, which marked Linkin Park’s first new music in seven years.

If you were a fan of Hybrid Theory or Meteora, the band is a bit different since the passing of Chester Bennington back in 2017. Since then, the band has changed its membership quite a bit, which has sparked some controversy. New bandmate Emily Armstrong grew up in the Church of Scientology and has shown support for convicted rapist Danny Masterson (also part of the Church of Scientology). Armstrong has since responded to criticism over her support of Masterson. Bennington’s son, Jaime, criticized the band for hiring Armstrong as well.

If you happen to be in Germany on September 24th, the band will perform Heavy Is The Crown for the first time in front of a live audience.
